Close to Maghull Station and the local busses, this is well worth a visit. Quality food and excellent value for money. "Light Bites" on the menu, for those with a smaller appetite. A pleasant, clean environment with friendly, helpful, efficient staff. Good real ales as well (added bonus) plus Beck's Blue as a non-alcoholic option. As a Greene King Pub I'm surprised they didn't have the low-alcohol "Old Speckled Hen", which for many would be a better option! One for them to consider perhaps?
Popular local pub/restaurant. Slowish sevice when busy. Fish & chips or the plate pie the best option on the menu. Be sure to order the plate pie (great) and not the pot pie (not so great).

Best pub in England! We just got back home to Florida after a three week tour of Europe. Our favorite experience of the whole trip was drinking with the locals at The Great Mogul. The gin, atmosphere and especially the bartenders, made it a night to remember. I just wish we didnt live across the Atlantic... we would be there all the time.
